Safeguarding
As a club, we are committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for everyone involved in our activities. We take safeguarding seriously and aim to ensure that all members feel supported, respected, and protected at all times.
Our commitment includes:
Safeguarding children and young people who take part in our club activities
Safeguarding vulnerable adults
Promoting good safeguarding practice and awareness among all members, volunteers, and visitors
Ensuring that all participants are treated with respect and are not subjected to inappropriate behaviour, and that any concerns are addressed promptly and appropriately
We strive to make our club a positive and secure space where everyone can enjoy and participate with confidence.
Following guidance from the ECF the governing body of chess in the UK
No junior member should be left unattended at the club at any time. We require that a parent, guardian, or older sibling over the age of Majority remains on site throughout the session.
Junior members are asked to use the designated toilet facilities as directed by the club.
From 1 April, the club will open at 6:30pm to provide additional time for informal coaching and support for junior members.
